Have a bucket list. Check it off. Life is short.

I was hanging out with Mom and Dad last week in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Dad had a rather awkward trip down the resort’s water slide. I felt badly that I’d convinced him to give it a try and he’d clearly not had a good time, but at the bottom, he turned to me and said, “That was not fun. But at least I can check it off my bucket list.”

It instantly made me think of Mia and how she always wanted to go parasailing but never managed to do it before she felt she was “too old”. Truth be told, she probably could have gone parasailing long after she thought she could go parasailing, but she never got to do it.

So, after Dad’s comment, as he and I resumed our trek around the lazy river, I tried to conjure up a mental image of my own bucket list. I’ve been down water slides. I’ve been parasailing. But what haven’t I done?

Β A few weeks ago I was ziplining above downtown Las Vegas with Jeff and Anil. And it was so freakin’ fun. I want to zipline again, through the trees in a more natural setting. I want to go on a cruise. I want to hike all 4o peaks on the South Beyond 6000 challenge.

Tell me, what do you want to do?

Life is short. Let’s start now.
