Let me start by telling you my 2-year-old niece, Mia, was named after my 92-year-old grandmother, Mia. To clarify, some people call them Little Mia and Great Mia, respectively, but oftentimes I just call them each ”Mia.” Up to the listener to figure out who’s who, I suppose.

Wanted to take a minute to show off my beautiful nieces and some of my design work at the same time … I designed these birth announcements for my sister-in-law and my brother for their baby girl, born in early September. Isn’t she beautiful?

Mia (my niece): what’s that on your nose?
Me: it’s a nose ring
Mia: my nose ring? (as she points at her nose)
Me: no, it’s my nose ring!
Mia: I want it! I want a nose ring!
She’s even more beautiful and wonderful than I ever imagined. The best part? Seeing how little Mia (her 2-year-old sister) acted around her. Giving her kisses on the forehead and talking about her sweetly. And Mia seems so big now compared to Sadie!
I arrived in NYC on Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon, my sister-in-law, Jenn, gave birth to their second daughter, Sadie Claire.
