I’ve never been to a strip club here, but I did go to one in Vancouver. Apparently, women go there. Like, all women at age 18 go – it’s just a thing. I was sort of shocked to learn this. We went to the one Bon Jovi frequented and thanked on the Slippery When Wet album – it’s famous. And boring. Like, nothing exciting. I’ve seen more racy stuff on TV. No approaching, really, either. Maybe that’s why women go in Canada!

When I lived in the Okla most of my friends worked in a strip club (mostly as waitresses, bouncers, or DJs). (I worked 3rd shift at one of two 24 hour restaurants, don't judge.) From the sounds of your story compared to some they had, you got out easy. The one time I went to the strip bar (I was picking up a friend from work, and showed up just before last call) there was an older man in the front row masturbating. I’ll try to find where I wrote the name of the place, but one time my friends and I met Edwin McCain, and he was telling some of the stories behind some of his songs, and in “Beautiful Life,” he sings about “eating breakfast at the strip-bar.” Apparently, when he visited New York City, some friends of his insisted that they take him to breakfast because they new the best place in the whole city, and it turned out to be a strip club, but he said it really was the best food he’d ever had.
